Voice Coil Motors (VCM)

Voice coil motors are applications of the principle of coils, which generate force when placed in a magnetic field and subjected to an electric current. Unlike ordinary motors, voice coil motors are based on rectilinear motion. Because the coil is the only moving component, they allow for both high-speed motion and accurate positioning.Using its NEOMAX magnets, the company has created voice coil motors that are small yet high-performance. These advanced components are widely used as head positioning actuators for hard disk drives in computers, and for a growing list of other applications: bonding machines, actuators for microprocessing systems, XY stages and more.
