Proterial Group Human Rights Policy
1. Basic Approach
The Proterial Group promotes global business activities based on respect for human rights, in line with our Corporate Philosophy and Code of Conduct. To clarify this commitment and fulfill our responsibility to all stakeholders, including employees and business partners, we have established the Proterial Group Human Rights Policy.
We are committed to understanding internationally recognized human rights standards, adhering to this Policy, and respecting the rights of all individuals involved in our business activities, ensuring that we do not cause or contribute to human rights violations.
2. Scope of Application
This Policy applies to all officers and employees of the Proterial Group. We also expect all our business partners, including suppliers, to respect human rights and avoid infringing upon them, as part of the standards of conduct we require.
3. Respect for International Norms
The Proterial Group recognizes that respect for human rights is a core corporate social responsibility and a foundation for sustainable growth.
We support the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which we committed to in 2025.
Furthermore, we strive to respect the following international human rights standards to the greatest extent possible and conduct our business with a high level of integrity:
- The International Bill of Human Rights
- The ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
- The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct
- The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
4. Governance
Initiatives under this Policy are overseen by the Board of Directors. The company-wide Human Rights Committee, chaired by the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) / Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (CRCO), is responsible for governance, coordination, and management of the Policy.
Relevant departments are responsible for implementing specific actions. The Human Rights Committee regularly reports the status of these initiatives to the Executive Management Committee.
5. Human Rights Due Diligence
The Proterial Group implements human rights due diligence based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to identify, assess, prevent, and mitigate adverse human rights impacts related to our business activities.
6. Salient Human Rights Issues
The Proterial Group prioritizes the following salient human rights issues across its business activities:
- 1Forced labor and child labor
- 2Discrimination based on personal attributes such as race, nationality, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity
