Proterial Receives CDP 2025 Climate Change A- Rating
and Water Security A Rating

Proterial, Ltd. (hereinafter “Proterial”) received a CDP Climate Change A- rating in 2025 (the second highest of eight tiers). Proterial also received the top-tier A rating in the Water Security category. CDP is a global environmental information disclosure platform.

1. About CDP

CDP is a global non-profit organization that collects and evaluates environmental information from companies and local governments. It assesses their efforts to address significant environmental issues, including climate change, water resource issues, and forest issues, based on the criteria of transparency, comprehensiveness, and reliability. More than 24,800 companies report environmental information through CDP. These companies represent about two-thirds of the global market capitalization.

2. Proterial’s initiatives

Proterial’s vision is leading sustainability by high performance; in other words, to be a company that manufactures highly functional materials and promotes a sustainable society. The company adopts management practices that emphasize sustainability. To achieve carbon neutrality in 2050, Proterial has set the goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 38% or more by FY2030 compared to FY2015. In FY2024, Proterial achieved a 64% reduction, significantly exceeding this target.

In 2025, Proterial improved its CDP Climate Change rating, moving to A-, up from B the previous year. The Water Security rating rose significantly from B to A. Proterial’s efforts to address environmental issues have gained recognition globally. Proterial will continue to reduce the environmental impact throughout its value chain, from manufacturing to logistics, providing environmental value as a green enabler.
