Request of the business continuity plan (BCP)

We require all our suppliers to prepare a business continuity plan (BCP).

A BCP is an action plan addressing measures to ensure the uninterrupted continuity of core business activities and operations or the resumption of such activities within a targeted time period in the event of earthquake, fire, or other natural disaster, or in the event of other incidents, such as computer system failures.

The increasingly centralized nature of production and logistics facilities in recent years and the growing dependence on information systems have increased the threats posed by such events to interrupt corporate activity. In addition to earthquakes, typhoons, and other natural disasters and accidents such as fires and power failures, unforeseeable external events such as acts of terrorism and epidemic disease also pose potential threats to business continuity. These factors have underscored the importance of business continuity and organizational measures for ensuring business continuity and preserving a company's reputation. The steps taken to address these potential events fall within the scope of a company's social responsibilities, particularly for companies whose business is of a highly public nature.
