This system, used to cool semiconductor-production equipment, is compared below with the chilled tower, air-cooled chiller, turbo-refrigeration and gas-combustion cold water generation systems, in terms of power requirement, annual power consumption and annual running costs.

In comparison with other systems, the chilled tower system offers savings of 16% ~ 35% in terms of power requirement (excluding the cold-water generation system).
With regard to annual running costs, the system saves
- approximately ¥5.5 million (approximately 52%) compared with the air-cooled chilling system
- approximately ¥5.1 million (approximately 50%), compared with the water-cooled chilling system
- approximately ¥5.2 million (approximately 50%), compared with the turbo-refrigeratied system
- approximately ¥7.6 million (approximately 60%), compared with the cold-water generaton system
proving that it has major merits of economy.
