WRC FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

What is WRC?

The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) is the highest level of rally competition in the world, with a history spanning more than 40 years since its establishment in 1973.
The championship began when 13 events, selected from rallies held around the world, were organized into a series and awarded official world championship titles. In regions where rallying is especially popular, such as Europe and South America, the WRC enjoys a level of popularity comparable to Formula 1.
In WRC, drivers race on closed public roads known as Special Stages (SS), using competition cars based on production models, with the goal of recording the fastest time. Unlike circuit racing, cars run one at a time, typically starting at intervals of one to three minutes. These stages are contested repeatedly over the course of three to four days.
The final results are determined on Sunday, the last day of the event, based on the combined times from all Special Stages.

After Rally Japan

Rally Japan 2026 was held over four days from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31, across Aichi and Gifu Prefectures, drawing many fans from Japan and abroad.
On the final day, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team delivered a dominant performance, with Elfyn Evans taking overall victory and the team securing second, third, and fourth place, an outstanding result.
Several of our employees, including our CEO, attended the event and experienced the excitement of world-class rallying firsthand.
We will continue to share highlights, results, and scenes from the event in our “Rally Highlights” section as the WRC season moves into its second half.
